Exploring Taiwan with the M10-P

Kiddo being carried at Jiu Fen

The M system has always had a special place in my photographic journey. Since my first encounter with the M3, I have been in love with the quirkiness and hands on aspect of the rangefinder experience.

For this trip, I brought along the M10 and 3 lenses (ms optics 28 f2/ summar 50/ elmar 90 ltm)

Having had time to familiarise myself to these 3 focal lengths has allowed me to envision the image to a certain extent while looking at things. And is one of the aspects of using the m system that I really enjoy. To expect the unexpected, to capture the unplanned.

My copy of the summar was pretty well used, with scuffs on the exterior and significant amount of tiny cleaning marks on the front element. Yet I still very much enjoyed the images it produced. I guess sometimes it’s about appreciating beauty and finding the beauty of what is.

In the past 3 years I have moved away from my 1 lens one camera set (m10 + 35 Summaron). Instead I have been drawn to the 28/50 combo a lot. Getting familiar with this change has helped alot in the envisioning of the images before I even raise the viewfinder to my eye.
